Statement of Faith

  1. The Bible
We believe the Holy Bible is the Word of the living God written by holy men in ancient times as they were inspired by the Holy Spirit (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
  2. The Eternal Godhead
We believe there is only one true and living God. He made heaven and earth and all that is in them. He is the beginning and the end of everything. He is Love. He is holy, just and merciful. He is worthy of worship. He is a mysterious Trinity: Father, Son and Holy Spirit (1 John 5:7).
  3. The Fall of Man
We believe humans were created in the image of God, but because of rebellion against God, all are sinners and deserve the condemnation of a just and holy God (Genesis 1:27; Rom 5:12).
  4. The Plan of Redemption
We believe Jesus Christ died for all mankind: the Just for the unjust. He took our sentence, carried our sins, received our condemnation, died our death, and fully paid our penalty. By simple belief and acceptance of His gift of love, no matter how great our rebellion may have been, we are justified before a holy God. (John 3:16; Titus 2:14).
  5. Salvation Through Grace
We believe the salvation of sinners depends totally upon God’s grace. We have no righteousness or goodness of our own by which to approach God (Ephesians 2:8).
  6. Repentance and Acceptance
We believe God receives anyone who comes to Him with sincere repentance, sorrow for their sin, and a whole-hearted acceptance of the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour (Romans 10:6-10; 1John 1:9).
  7. The New Birth
We believe the change in a person’s heart and life when they accept Jesus as their Saviour is a very real one. They are born again. God gives a new life and all old rebellion is forgiven (2 Corinthians 5:17; Galatians 2:20).
  8. Daily Christian Life
We believe God wills for anyone cleansed by acceptance of Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross to grow stronger in faith, prayer, love and service every day ( John 15:1-8; 2 Corinthians 7:1).
  9. Water Baptism & the Lord’s Supper
We believe in water baptism in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, according to Jesus’ example and command. It is an outward sign of the inward change in our lives (Romans 6:4).
We believe the shared communion at the Lord's table is a reminder that Jesus’ body was broken for us and His blood shed for us (1Corinthians 11: 24-26).
  10. The Baptism of the Holy Spirit
We believe Jesus Christ baptizes with the Holy Spirit all who asks. The baptism with the Holy Spirit empowers believers as witnesses. (Acts 1:5, 8; 2:4).
  11. The Spirit Filled Life
We believe God wills for our lives to demonstrate our faith in God. We are taught and equipped by the Spirit to serve others as God enables us. (Ephesians 4:30-32; Galatians 5:16, 25).
  12. The Gifts & Fruit of the Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit gives spiritual gifts to the Church: wisdom, knowledge, faith, healing, miracles, prophecy, discernment, tongues, and interpretation. The fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, goodness, faith, humility and moderation, grows within as evidence of a Spirit-filled life (1Corinthians 12:1-11; Galatians 5:22-25).
  13. Moderation
We believe Christians should be sober, thoughtful, and balanced in their daily conduct and testimony and in all things Christ-like with tolerance towards others. (Colossians 3:12, 13; Philippians 4:5).
  14. Divine Healing
We believe the Lord Jesus Christ heals the sick and troubled in answer to the prayer of faith. He meets the needs of body, soul, and spirit according to His plan for each life (Mark 16:17-18; James 5:14-16).
  15. The Second Coming of Christ
We believe Jesus will come again. No one knows when this will occur. We are to be aware of signs of the times and be prepared for His return. (Matthew 24:36, 42, 44; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17).
  16. Church Relationship
We believe God desires born-again Christians to recognize that their place within the local church relates them to the worldwide Church, and that they are the Body of Christ. (Acts 16:5; Hebrews 10:24).
  17. Civil Government
We believe that the civil government is divinely appointed for the benefit and good order of human society. Governors and rulers should be prayed for and obeyed – so long as that does not oppose the will of God (Acts 4:18-20; Romans 13:1-5).
  18. Judgment
We believe the dead will be resurrected to stand with the living before the judgment seat of God. The unbelievers will have sentenced themselves to everlasting punishment. The believers who accepted the righteousness of God through Jesus Christ will live eternally (Revelation 20:11-12; 2Corinthians 5:10).
  19. Heaven
We believe that Heaven is the indescribably glorious habitation of the living God and the future home of the righteous. (John 14:2; Revelation 7:15-17).
  20. Hell
We believe that hell is a place of darkness and sorrow, far removed from the presence of God. It is a place prepared for the devil and his angels. Unbelievers will share his fate in a place of grief and eternal regret (Matthew 13:41-42; Revelation 10:10, 15).
  21. Evangelism
We believe Jesus commands Christians to share the good news of the Saviour with everyone, for God is love. (Matt.28:19,20; Mark 16:15; James 5:20).

Tithing & Offerings
We believe that the method ordained of God to sustain His ministry and the spread of the gospel is through the financial support of God’s people (Malachi 3:10; 1 Corinthians 16:1-2).
