JESUS, THE CHANGELESS

"I am the Lord, I change not, therefore you are not consumed...."Malachi 3:6

The tree outside my office window has changed. It is not first time. Each season brings another change, even though I live in Southern California. Its interesting to notice the different colors and stages of growth as our tree responds to the climate.

People change physically as they grow older. I look at the radiant young bride in our wedding photograph on the bedroom wall and marvel at the change the years have made in my person and at the changes the years have made in my personality.

Change is not always a negative alteration. It can be a creative renewal. Like the trees, change can make us beautifully productive. A positive attitude can make us creative throughout life. Each season colors our personality with various hues to make us glow and grow.

Life causes change like the loss of a loved one, by death or divorce, loss of our identity, by unemployment or bankruptcy, or loss of relationships, by jealousy or envy, or loss of peaceful stability, by moving from the familiar to the unfamiliar.

If we resent the changes we slowly wither, dry up and die bitter and barren.

But if we surrender our lives to the Unchanging Creator and trust His creative power, we may be creative in all seasons. We can allow the creative energy of the Holy Spirit make us blossom and bear His beautiful fruit. This type of creative change can continue right up to the end of life on earth.

Surrender: Your fear or resentment of change to the Lord's and allow the Holy Spirit to bring renewal again and again all your life long.

PRAYER: O God, I thank you that I am in You, the Changeless. I rejoice as I watch the passing changes of life and thank you I shall not perish but have eternal life. Amen

HOW YOU LIVE MAKES A DIFFERENCE

"The earth was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence." Genesis 6:11

"And the Lord was sorry that He had made man on the Earth, and He was grieved in His heart." Genesis 6:6

Soon after the fall of man, the earth was so full of violence God was sorry He ever made the human race. He sent His Spirit to strive with them, but He was ignored. Mankind became even more violent and corrupt. God was grieved and said, "My Spirit shall not strive with man forever....I will destroy man from the face of the Earth."

Fortunately, a life, radiant with rare purity, sparkled in the darkness of the violent and wicked The Lord saw Noah, righteous, obedient and faithful in an unbelieving world. Noah's right living moved God to save the human race, rather than destroy it. Noah's warning to his neighbors was the sole voice of mercy before judgment.

YOU MAY BE THE SOLE VOICE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS WHERE YOU LIVE AND WORK.

LIVE AWARE: That God sees our violent and evil ways, but has a heart for our salvation. Live to please God and to obey his will, even when it is difficult. Live to warn others of judgment and offer the way of salvation before it is too late.

PRAYERLord, I want to live as one made righteous by your saving grace. May my life shine in the darkness around me. Make me a peace-maker in a violent world. May my family be saved, even as you saved me. For Jesus' sake, Amen
