The Word that Heals

"You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you."
"When the Counsellor comes whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father, he will testify about me." John 15:3,26

When God spoke at the beginning of Creation, order appeared out of chaos. The Psalmist declared God sent his Word and healed the Israelites. In the Gospels, Jesus Christ , the Word made flesh, healed the sick and forgave sin.

God speaks to every generation. Today, He speaks into your mind to bring order out of chaos and heal. The Holy Spirit changes your outlook as you read the Word of God.
He reveals Jesus to you as you need Him. He speaks words of faith and enables you to speak words of faith to others.

Receive the word .  "I forgive you by my blood. I heal you by my wounds. I empower you by my Spirit."

Prayer:  Dear Jesus, I receive your Word that heals me and gives me peace. Help me today to speak words of faith to inspire others to receive your touch. Amen.

Jesus Gives You His Word

"For I gave them the words you gave me and they accepted them. They knew with certainty that I came from you, and they believed that you sent me." John 17:8
When challenged by the prince of darkness, Jesus relied on the written Word of God.
He made full use of it. It was an effective weapon in his hands. Why? He was a man of prayer, well acquainted with the Scriptures, fully submitted to God and filled with the Spirit.

His teaching of the written Word and the spoken, revealed will of the Father was his gift to his disciples. If they were to make as good a use of the Word as Jesus did, they would also need to be men of prayer, well acquainted  with the scriptures, fully submitted to God and filled with the Spirit.

Remember: Jesus has given you the Word to use as an effective weapon against all evil. Use it today!

Prayer: Father, give me scriptural words today that will be effective against the enemy. In Jesus Name. Amen.

SHARPENED AND SHADOWED

"He made my mouth like a sharpened sword, in the shadow of his hand he hid me; he made me into a polished arrow and concealed me in his quiver." Isaiah 49:2
A sharp tongue cuts. There is a difference between speech sharpened by the Lord and speech sharpened by ourselves  The mouth the Lord makes effective for good, is the one that speaks the word of God. It is controlled by the Holy Sprit and disciplined by prayer. When the tongue speaks words controlled by the flesh in a mouth undisciplined by prayer, those words do little good.
You are covered! God keeps you hidden in his shadow until the chosen moment comes for his word to be thrust with accuracy to deliver from Satan's lies.
A word for now:   Let God shape your speech to pierce through hard unbelief by the spoken word. He can make your words go straight as an arrow to the heart.

Prayer: Lord sharpen my speech to penetrate at the right time to do good for others. I ask for the word of wisdom and of knowledge. Let me discern the time to speak and to deliver. Amen.

HIS WORD ON YOUR MIND

"Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God." Ephesians 6:17
God's Word is a helmet of healing and protection for troubled minds. Take his Word and  wear it as a divine covering over your head, a shield over your mind. To learn God's Word provides the mind with a manual for a victorious life. When God's Word  is on your mind, it will also be on your lips.
As a sword, the Word of God, is wielded as a mighty weapon by a disciplined arm. A daily discipline of prayer and regular Bible study builds faith. It releases the Holy Spirit to work in your present circumstances.

Action for victory: Discover a Bible verse that applies to a difficult situation in your life. Take hold of it and claim the victory. Read it aloud several times. Declare God's power.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, help me today to find that special verse. I want to see your power released through it. Lord, increase my faith. Amen.

DEPEND UPON GOD'S WORD

"Jesus answered, 'It is written: Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God'."

"Then the devil left him, and behold, angels came and ministered to him." Matthew 4:4,11

Jesus, as a man, was tempted at every level. At the point of physical desire he was tempted to use power given for ministry for his own self-gratification. His mental powers were challenged as he was pushed towards self-destruction to prove his power was God-given! At the spiritual level he was urged to gain world dominion by submission to Satan, rather than by his submission to Father God.

He overcame by the Word in his mouth. Satan's perversion of scripture was met by "It is written.." His was not self-assertion, but a dependance upon  the Word of God.

Afterwards, angels came and ministered to Jesus; an evidence he had been tempted to seek for help.

Remember: All of heaven is on your side today. When you deny your self, declare truth and depend upon it, you win! Resist with the Word. Wait for heaven's help.

Prayer: Jesus, your Son won against temptations like I face today. Help me to resist as he did with your Word. Holy Spirit, help me. Amen

HIS WORD CUTS THROUGH EVERYTHING

"The word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double=edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow and discerns the thoughts and attitudes of the heart." Hebrews 4:12

At a difficult time in her teens,an onslaught of unduly harsh criticism caused her to spiral downward into confusion and self-doubt.  Before that time she thought she knew the truth about herself, but then her confidence was shattered.

Alone in her room, she reached for her Bible. She began to read the words aloud. The truth cut through the dark despair and severed every lie, one by one. In time,  deception was shattered. Her mind was clear and calm. The Word had penetrated her depression and did its work.

Comment:  No one is strong enough, or wise enough to win against false accusations of Satan or man. The Word of God has power to sever lies from truth. Read the Word. Speak the Word. See how it penetrates the darkest of thoughts and emotions.

Prayer: Lord I submit my troubled thoughts to you. Show me the truth in the Word. Help me confess it with my lips until I see the victory. In Jesus Name. Amen
