A CALL TO UNDYING DEVOTION

"And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold." Matt. 24:12

For all practical purposes, most people live as atheists; those who believe there is no God to whom they are accountable. Their lifestyle expresses the most contemptible insult towards Christianity; indifference, cold, cruel indifference.

That is the very attitude you and I as believers must not develop. Never become indifferent to Jesus. Recall, if you can, when In a flash of revelation, in a moment of recognition, your heart was pierced with passionate love for Jesus. (to read more click on article title..)

VIOLENCE GRIEVES GOD

"The Earth was corrupt before God, and the Earth was filled with violence."

"And the Lord was sorry that He had made man on the Earth, and He was grieved in His heart." Genesis 6:5-7

A heart broken God! That is what we see in the Genesis account of a violent time.

In a few verses God is moved from pleasure as He surveyed His creation, to deep regret He had ever made Earth. Man's evil in the sight of the Lord, was an impudent insult, an utter disregard of God's feelings.

But this slap in the face of God did not turn Him away from the human race. His eyes caught sight of one single soul who pleased Him, and God's heart gushed with grace towards the man. God knew his name. "But Noah found grace in eyes of the Lord."

Our violent culture grieves God. His eyes sees you, the individual believer, and He knows your name. His grace is available for you when violence breaks your heart. He has a protection plan for you.

What I can do:  Your task is to build faith for the salvation of your family as they experience the effects of a violent culture.

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for your grace. See me, where I am, in this violent world. See those I love and give me compassion for those who suffer violence. Show mercy to those unaware of how much violence grieves You. In Jesus' name. Amen.

GIVE UP YOUR CREEKS

"Gilead stayed beyond the Jordan, and why did Dan remain on ships? Asher continued at the seashore, and stayed by his inlets."Judges 5: 17

GOD WITH US!

Diverted and distracted, these men could not make up their minds. Gilead played it safe. Dan went sailing. Asher kept his distance on the seacoast, safe and secure in his harbors. When Israel needed honorable leaders who would lead, reprobate leaders immersed the nation into mayhem. Yet, God took what He had to work with and carried out His plans.

He does some of His best work with the most unlikely people. God can and does work with us in whatever moral and spiritual condition He finds us. God found a way to significantly include these leaders. He can certainly use us along with our sometimes impossible friends and relatives.

These events occurred at a time when there was no king in Israel. People did whatever they felt like doing. But God was there; there was a King.

In the time of moral and political anarchy, the presence of the Sovereign God assured the reality of His Kingdom. God is with us and He rules! He looks for those who submit to His will and choose to accomplish Divine purposes in present times.

PRAYER: Dear God, save me from indecision due to the fear of what can happen when I answer your call. Whatever or whoever seems to block the way, must submit. I ask for your grace and courage as I agree to do your will. I surrender all and stand ready to do whatever you ask. In Jesus' Name. Amen!
