“And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, that I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams.....” Acts 2: 17
It is the end of the year, not the end of your life. It is necessary to note the end this year, so we can focus on the start of the new year. Holidays help us visualize special days by marked dates on our calendars.
The Scriptures show on God's calendar 'the last days' are not a few days, but are part of an age of grace; days of outpoured fullness promised in the Old Testament and they came to pass in the New Testament. They are days of mission and message commissioned by Jesus to each believer. They are days of the Holy Spirit's ministry through the church Jesus called 'My Church'. They have not ended. The last days will last until Jesus comes again to gather His Church to reign with Him.
Christians have implanted within their heart a sense of destiny that is eternal. Until then, we are sons and daughters with an ageless anointing upon us by the Eternal Spirit to proclaim our visions and dream our dreams until the end of our years.
USE THESE DAYS TO REFLECT: Reflect on what 'came to pass' the last year, but pause only awhile. We have a mission and a message that keeps us looking ahead, not to the end of the world, but to the end of the age, when we shall see Him, our beloved Savior.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, may my vision and dreams stay forever young, eternal as the Holy Spirit who anoints me for all the days of my life. In Jesus' name, Amen.
