"....The
night is about over, dawn is about to break...Be up and awake to what God is
doing...God is putting finishing touches on the salvation work he began when we
first believed...." Romans 13:12
The night
before Jesus was born the world lay in darkness, mostly pagan. Except for a
place called Palestine. It too, was full of dark shadows that lurked in
historic Hebrew times, seasons and festivals; familiar figures who commemorated
seasons and feasts; Sabbath, Atonement, and Jubilee. They were there waiting;
prophets, patriarchs and priests.
It was very
dark the night before The Author of Salvation arrived to usher in a New Day.
The Morning Star had risen. It was the
night before the Alpha and Omega appeared, the Almighty Amen! - The Beginning
of Creation, Blessed and Only Sovereign, Immanuel!
It was the
night before The Light of the World disturbed demons in the deep darkness with
a message meant for angels. Satan and Hell's powers shivered and shrieked as
Christ was born. It was the
night before angels sang to shepherds the good news that made them hurry from
their fields to Bethlehem and there verify what they had heard.
It was the
night before God, the Father, manifested the gift of His beloved Son to the
world to be every man's Savior for all time. It was the
night before wise men from afar, led by a star, looked up again and continue to
travel towards the King.
Awake: Travel on, look up for Christ, the Savior,
has come. Tonight could be the night before He comes again!
Prayer: Help me to be faithful to you, Lord, towards that city where there is no night. Love and prayer for each to be faithful to God.
Personal
Note: Christ's love in my heart for you has inspired me to write this past
year's devotionals. I pray they have
blessed you. Let us look forward to The Day Of Salvation.
