"By faith he kept the Passover and the sprinkling of blood, so that the destroyer of the first-born would not touch the first-born of Israel." HEBREWS 11:28
Passover is a perpetual remembrance of the night God delivered his people, Israel, from Egyptian bondage. It was a terrible night of judgment. The destroyer of the first-born swept through the land. The Israelites applied the blood of an unblemished lamb to their doorways. God promised, "When I see the blood, I will pass over you." The fate of the family greatly depended upon the decision of the head of the family.
Where there was no faith, there was no blood. Where there was no blood, there was no deliverance. Where there was faith, there was protection and deliverance for all.
Today there is a new covenant and a new covering. Far better than the old one. Jesus is the Lamb of God who delivers us. You who believe in the saving power of his blood are protected from judgment. Not only do you protect yourself, but your faith can influence your family to trust in Jesus and to stay under that covering. Be identified as one in your family and in your neighborhood who has faith in the saving power of Jesus blood.
Be Marked: Be known in your family and in your neighborhood as one who believes in salvation by the death of Jesus on the cross.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, Make me a bold and obedient witness to all around me. I do care about their eternal destiny. I will love them and bring them under the blood. Amen
