"For the Holy Spirit will teach you at that time what should say." LUKE 12:12
My husband was a gifted teacher. Graduates of the schools where he taught have often said to me, "He was the best teacher I ever had."
Think of the best teacher you ever had. They were the ones who made complicated things simple for you to understand. Often the best teacher is the one who made you feel you could do it, gave you confidence, that pat on the back that made you try harder.
You may wish that the teacher you liked best could have become a personal friend; someone who would stick with you.
Jesus has given you a such a friend, a resident-teacher. He is the Holy Spirit. He enlightens your mind to think like a Christian. The Holy Spirit's thought patterns become ours as he teaches us from the text book he wrote himself, the Bible! He is the Spirit of prayer who builds our vocabulary to pray as a child of God.
When you are in a tight place, like in court, and don't know how to defend yourself, he will give you the right words. He helps you to speak correctly because he teaches you to think. You speak what you learn through prayer and the study of God's Word.
Thank the Lord: Recall past and present teachers. Take a moment to thank God. Pray for those who teach you, or your children, at church or in school. Now remember for that he has given you the 'best teacher.'
Prayer: Lord, let the Holy Spirit develop biblical patterns of thought. Enable me to speak as a true Christian in times of stress.
