"Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, and having a High Priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from a evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water."Hebrews 10:19-24
There are two kinds of Christians, nominal and committed. Many nominal Christians come to church on Easter and that's it, until Christmas. They "date" Jesus; meeting Him only on those special holidays on the calendar. In between those dates, He is forgotten. But there are committed Christians whose interest in Jesus is more than casual. Everyday with Jesus is better than the day before.
What kind of Christian are you? Is He central, in your heart and on your mind all the time? If so, then you like to talk about what He has done over and over. You want to know more about what He is doing now and you live in expectation of what He will do.
Hold fast to what Jesus has done for you. His incarnation, His life with us here, His passion, His crucifixion, death, burial and His resurrection. Hold on to that, but there is more; His ascension to heaven, where He is seated at the right hand of the Father, our High Priest. There He intercedes for you. Jesus has sent the Holy Spirit, the Helper, to help you in every part of your life. Take hold of that truth.
He is the key to Paradise. Your High Priest has opened the way for you to heaven. You can now come boldly into His presence to receive His empowering grace for your needs.
Prayer: Jesus, I come to you, my Savior, my Great High Priest. Once I hesitated to draw near to God; not sure if I was presentable. My bad conscience blocked me. Thank you that the blood of the cross has cleared the way, cleansed and made me presentable. I will never fear, Jesus, you are near. The way is open to heaven's throne. Hallelujah! Jesus, I open to the presence of the Holy Spirit who you have sent to help me. Thank you, Jesus. Amen
