"And this she did for many days. But Paul, greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit,"I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her." and he (the spirit) came out that very hour." Acts 16:16-18
Are you fed up with a continual evil annoyance? Did you ever think it could be due to an evil spirit and it requires a straight forward command in Jesus' name to stop it?
Some situations demand spiritual discernment and spiritual authority. Instead of anger directed against a person or wild exasperation with certain conditions, a righteous indignation might be needed to speak to the true source of the problem.
"Out! In the name of Jesus Christ get out of her!" Paul addressed the lying spirit whose shrill voice shrieked false flattery through the mouth of a slave girl . Paul's words of power broke up the devil's lucrative little business. He set up a chain of events that released songs of deliverance while captives were set free!
Do you sense something wrong, even when it seems right to others? Is there a false sound to words spoken as truth? The Holy Spirit of truth, often alerts believers to declare deliverance and victory. Ask a mature believer to pray with you. Paul was not alone in the action he took. He had Silas as a prayer partner.
Take action! It may not be popular among some around you, but if you act in faith and speak a word of power, the one delivered will be grateful and you will feel better!
Prayer: "Lord, I humbly ask for discernment from the Holy Spirit about actions and words that disturb my soul. Show me if this annoyance is due to some lack of grace in me, or is due to an evil spirit in another. In either case, Lord, I want to see victory and release songs of deliverance! In the all-powerful name of Jesus. Amen"
