"But as many as received Him, to them he gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name." JOHN 1:12

Alan, my son-in-law, once attended a service in an English village chapel. The Anglican minister said, "I would rather we considered ourselves as 'In Christ' than that we simply said we are Christians." His point made an impact. The ministers words moved the thinking from what has become a label with various meanings to a positive, clear declaration. It re-defines whose we are and where we are: "In Christ."

It is our right to say we are 'In Christ." We are in His family. As Christians we carry His Name and we believe in that name above all names. If we carry in our minds that we are 'in Christ' we will act more often as sons and daughters of God.

Do you see yourself as one with the right to become a child of God? Or do you have a self-image of a beggar, an outsider, an orphan? Are you a pauper or a prince? Step into your place in God's family take your stand..'in Christ!' Become a child of God.

Today be your child-of God self, begotten of God by the Spirit of God. He has given you the right, authorized you, to be your true self, "in Christ.". You can pray in Jesus' name. You can speak out against evil, even throw out the devil, in Jesus' name. You can heal the sick.  You can declare peace in Jesus' name. You can be an ambassador to all the world in His name.

Believe in His name: Believe Jesus will do what He says, for He is who He says He is.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, you gave me the privilege to declare myself a child of God. But children must grow into their destinies. Please help me to become a mature, obedient child. I desire to fulfill Your divine purposes in my life. In Jesus' name. Amen
