"Through You we will push down our enemies; through Your name we will trample those who rise up against us." PSALM 44:5

The Old Testament history of Israel's struggles are excellent lessons for anybody who faces opposition as a child of God. They teach us to not trust in one's own strength, but in the Lord.

God's plan is to wipe out the enemy. In the end, all evil will be forever defeated. Christians are in a constant conflict against their enemies, visible and invisible, until that final judgment .

So, today, with God's help, push down, press against. Stand your ground against forces of evil that oppose righteousness. Forces of darkness rise across the world. Trample, means to again and again put your foot down. Repeat the resistance. Draw the line and say, "No farther."

This declaration is one of spiritual authority that depends upon the direction of the Lord. Wait for and act upon His orders. Be loyal to your King. Rely upon His name, use His authority and claim His victory.

To fight in anger against any attack upon you or your family is not the way to win. Anger dilutes your authority. Resistance, not revenge, is the action required.

Push back and push down evil through the Lord. Use His Word. Declare His victory at the cross. Plead the power of His blood. Prayer and praise are powerful forces for victory. You overcome evil with good; the good fight of faith. Have calm confidence.

Don't give up: "Trample" indicates the need of a repeated action. Don't give up an inch of ground. Put your foot down again and again. Fight back with steadfast faith.. You're not alone nor without authority. You are a royal guard in the service of the King.

Prayer: Lord, I will trample the enemy in Your name and will push down oppression. I need to be strong. Give me the power of the Spirit as I fight the good fight of faith. My trust is in You. Victory is in Your name. Amen
