"A little while longer and the world will see Me no longer, but you will see Me. Because I live, you will live also." John 14:19

Most of us have felt it. The deep hurt in the heart when someone we love leaves us. It is especially sad when their departure seems to be final with no expectation of their return. For whatever reason they left, it seems the pain does not go away. When Jesus told them He was leaving, the heart of every disciple felt that pain. They felt God forsaken.

When a believer feels God forsaken, their faith is tempted to doubt what they have believed is real or true. Sometimes they are so disappointed and heart-broken their faith in God dies. They doubt whether there is any good reason to live.

Those who suffer the loss of a love that left and feel life isn't worth living, take note of the next words Jesus spoke. "But you will see Me, because I live, you will live also."

Jesus knew there would be a better belief, a firmer faith, a larger life after the cross and the resurrection. His disciples would see Him again and then they would really come alive. Soon they would no longer be uncertain, not sure if it was true, but they would know absolutely that Jesus, Son of God, was there, never to leave them nor forsake them.

Don't despairIf it's hard to believe you will see God in your present circumstances, don't despair. There is hope and a promise that you'll live with even more assurance and faith in God than ever before.

Prayer: Dear Father, I want to see Jesus as The Victor, even though I feel forsaken. Lord Jesus, give me faith that claims Your promise to never leave me nor forsake me. Give me a new reason to really live with a new joy. Thank You, Amen
