Psalm 35:18 “I will give You thanks in the great assembly; I will praise You among many people.” Psalm 35:18

Giving thanks in public places, like prayer before a meal, no matter how brief, can cause a number of reactions among others nearby. Some recognize it as something they used to do, and may feel they ought to do it more often. Others, unused to such practices, may ridicule it to cover their surprise anyone would pray in public.

The Psalmist makes a declaration of unabashed pleasure in giving God thanks anywhere, anytime, before anybody. His gratitude overcomes any awkward embarrassment he might have. He has to honor the Lord, for he is truly thankful.

SHOUT HALLELUJAH! Exuberant worship from a grateful heart to a generous God, is not always recognized to be genuine. Never mind. Give God the glory due to Him.

PRAYER: Lord, I never want to feel ashamed when seen as one who worships You. You died for me publicly on the cross. I must and will thank You publicly, Jesus. Amen
