RUN WELL

“You ran well. Who hindered you from obeying the truth? ”Galatians 5:7 

Around the first of the year, many of us resolve to pick up our pace in the race of life. We set new goals for ourselves. We get in a positive attitude and position ourselves to run well.

All of us who resolve to run well must be warned; many forces unite to wear us out with delays. Discouragement can drain the strength of the most determined. Beware of distractions. Let us not allow ourselves to drag our feet, change our course or to give up. Those tempted to slow down or to drop out, don't give up, but persevere...(to read more click on article title)



MERCY BEFORE JUDGMENT

“Hurry, escape there. For I cannot do anything until you arrive there.” The name of the town was called Zoar.” Genesis 19:22

This is a urgent command spoken by an angel, who was part of an angel team sent by God. They were to warn Lot to hurry and get out of town so they could finish off their mission to overthrow and destroy Sodom and Gomorrah. Judgment had to wait while mercy was bestowed.

A CONVENIENT TIME TO CALL

Now as he (Apostle Paul) reasoned about righteousness, self-control, and the judgment to come, Felix (Roman Governor of Judea) was afraid and answered, “Go away for now; when I have a convenient time I will call for you."  Acts 24:25

Procrastination is a thief! It robs us of priceless opportunities. Delayed decisions mean delayed action. We can lose the valuable benefits prompt obedience yields. The Bible has dramatic examples of how costly it is to be distracted and to procrastinate.

Why did Lot put off saving himself and his family, even when warned by angels of coming judgment? It was inconvenient because of worldly entanglements. He was all tied up with living and doing business in the twin-cities of Sodom and Gomorrah. His greed cost him and his family terrible losses. Gen.19:16

On two occasions In the New Testament we hear earnest volunteers plead to postpone discipleship with Jesus. Why? They procrastinated because family cares took priority. Mt.8:21, Lu.9:61 Personal inconvenience and fear are the most common causes of procrastination....(to read more click on article title)
