WAIT WITHOUT GIVING UP

“For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise.” Hebrews 10:36

All of us who pray for loved ones to receive the blessings God has for them, become impatient at times. Let all who are tempted to give up, hear these words of our text. Ever notice when you are discouraged how you begin to doubt whether you are in the will of God?

The wisest advice I ever had along the line was given to me by a senior employee of a bank where I worked when I was a student in Bible College...(to read more click on article title)

BE IN TOUCH WITH YOUR FAMILY'S SPIRITUAL NEEDS

“Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interest of others.” Philippians 2:3,4

A Christian's main interest should be to love God and to know Him now in such a way as to reach heaven at the end of life. Also, a believer should be interested not only in his own salvation, but care that those he loves be saved. A believer's personal salvation can be the means of the family's salvation.

Intercession can change how our family lives in this world now and where they live in eternity. Every family has squabbles. Past conflicts separate people; family members lose interest in each other. The best answer to such problems is intercessory prayer. It's an effective way to keep in touch with our family's spiritual needs. (to read more click on article title)

JESUS IS IN TOUCH WITH OUR REALITY

“Seeing that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.” Hebrews 4:14,15

Do you know you have a Savior who prays for you? Jesus, your great High Priest, has entered the throne room of heaven and He has left the door open for you to pray with Him. He will give you His perspective from the throne.

We often feel our own sinfulness as we pray for our loved ones. We feel guilty, responsible for our family's troubles because of our past deeds. Fear not. Jesus makes intercession for all of us. His wounds speak for us. Forgiven, we pray on!

ON THE CALVARY ROAD

“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.”Matthew 7:13-14

Our Meditations are titled “Faith For The Journey” and are sectioned into devotionals for the daily moments as we journey toward eternity.

The idea of life being like a road and our spiritual journey as a walk of faith is clearly described by Jesus Himself. He is “The Way” - the only way. No short cuts. In the Gospels He taught about two roads, one leads to life and one leads to destruction.

One of the first illustrated sermons I heard Aimee Semple McPherson preach in Angelus Temple was on the text above. In a scene on stage behind her pulpit stretched two roads signposted: The Road To Heaven – The Road to Hell. Heaven's upward road was full of beautiful light and Hell's downward road shaded with deep darkness. At the junction stood the cross....(to read more click on article title)

HELP IN HARD TIMES

“...we were burdened beyond measure, above strength, so that we despaired even of life. Yes, we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead, who delivered us....does deliver us ...will still deliver us.”             II CORINTHIANS 1:8-10

The Apostle Paul shares the time when he and those who served God with Him went through some hard times. In fact, he wondered if they would make it through! But God had mercy! He came alongside to bring them through when the pressure was on.

Often God's servants break down under burdens beyond their strength... (To read more click on article title)
